Grand Theft Auto - Vice City é o quarto jogo da famosa saga GTA, e foi, durante muito, o jogo mais vendido da Playstation 2. Após o grande sucesso de GTA3, que deu uma nova perspectiva à série, incorporando uma engine tridimensional ao conceito que tanto fez sucesso nas versões anteriores, Vice City trouxe novos aspectos à série.
Nesta versão há novas possibilidades: É possível pilotar motos e helicópteros, ou adquirir propriedades, por exemplo. As propriedades adquiridas têm basicamente 2 utilidades, podem ser usadas como esconderijo ou como um negócio que dá lucro, como uma companhia de táxi ou um bar.
O protagonista do jogo é Tommy Vercetti, um mafioso que vai de Liberty City à Vice City para efectuar um grande negócio envolvendo drogas. Entretanto, no meio do negócio, 3 homens mascarados matam os envolvidos e roubam tanto as drogas quanto o dinheiro. É então que você, na pele de Tommy, o único sobrevivente, fica encarregado de recuperar todo o dinheiro e as drogas perdidas.
